EDX 4 - Introduction to Needle Electromyography (EMG). This lecture course is an introduction to the discipline of of needle EMG. Bioinstrumentation and needle types are thoroughly discussed. Principles of spontaneous potential generation and motor unit potential generation is emphasized. Clinical applications are provided and practice sessions viewing and listening to both spontaneous potentials and motor unit potentials. Normal and abnormal potentials such as positive sharp waves and fibrillations will be thoroughly appreciated. Motor unit analysis and recruitment will also be discussed along with their clinical correlations.
